I have about 40 spare OEM cartridges for my various printers refilled and ready for use.

I wouldnt have a clue how many times they have being refilled,
put together probably close to a hundred give or take 10.

In my former life I was a big CISS junkie, I had five on the go. :ya

Sorry Jim,

What an "incredible" number for a retired individual. Let's see. Each refill cartridge yields 300 or 1000 sheets of print? 40 times 100 times 1000 is 4 million sheets. Wow, that's a lot of photos for adults.

If a cartridge yields 300 sheets and you want to print photos... you will use at least 4 cartridges (cmyk) to get 300 photos. If he refilled them 100 times
(put together), that means 25 sets. 25 times 300 is 7500. 4 million, you say?

Alternately, if he has 40 carts and refilled then 100 times total, give or take. That means he refilled each cart 2.5 times. Not much to base his statement that they will outlast your printer on.

Jimbo:

Thanks for the new refill tallies. Inspirational.

I estimate about half the number of refills as you for my CLI-8 cartridges - somewhere in the 20's - and probably a little more than a tenth the number of your refills for the PGI-5.

i started filling CLI-8 cartridges and now filling 220/221s and i have gone through 16oz of each color and close to 48oz of black i have used 3 OEM sets of cartridges for the CLI-8s and i have only 2 sets of the 220/221 that i use, that does not count the cartridges that i fill for friends, a 12oz refill kit from precision colors will last me about 10 months so how many times have i refilled the OEM cartridges a hell of a lot
