Is there a free third party programe available for printing a folded booklet on non-duplex printers? The most difficult part is getting the correct page order.

I have this problem on my Epson 1500W. It has a booklet printing function that prints pages in groups of 4 which have to be folded and stacked before binding. That is not what I want. I want something similar to what my Canon printer does, ie. print them all and then just fold and staple down the middle.
The problem with a non-duplex printer is that its not practical to turn over each page after one side is printed. Its easier to print all the sheets on one side, flip them and then print the other side.

So far, the only way to do this on my Epson 1500 W is to select 2 pages per sheet and manually enter the page numbers. eg.

16 page folded booklet sequence (not reverse order) printing 2 pages per sheet.
first 8 pages one side
16,1,14,3,12,5,10,7
flip remaining 8 pages ongways
2,15,4,13,6,11,8,9

If there was a programe that could calculate the correct page order, this would make life a lot easier. The page order is not the same for a duplex printer compared to a non duplex printer due to the fact that one side has to be printed and then flipped to print the other side.

Does anyone know of a programe that can help print a folded booklet in this situation? Your advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Chris

Did you check the driver - some support booklet printing depending on the printer model

You may have a look to the 'Fineprint' software with some wider functionality

Thank you both for your replies. I will check out "Frineprnt". I usually print booklets from pdf documents.

Well I just, checked out Adobe Acrobat and I do believe it allows me to do exactly what I want! (Although I will do some tests). It gives the option printing a booklet on both sides on a duplex printer. It also gives the option of printing on one side on a non-duplex printer and then flipping and printing the other side. Perfect!

Kind regards
Chris

Please do a test run first, say on… An 4 page booklet to familiarise yourself, because it’s too easy to get confused.. Good Luck..

Just print or export your document to PDF, you can use adobe Acrobat to print with booklet settings, also be sure to select odd pages first, once finished take your prints and refeed your printer again with your job turned upside down (shortside, your lead side become trail side), now reprint the same job but this time with even pages only selected.

Your job should be fully printed and sorted properly.

Note: it is not necessary to invert page output.

Also if what you need is to create a booklet first, then you could use Microsoft Publisher, adobe Indesign or Affinity Publisher to build it
