Hi. Recently my reds have turned orange! I use Octoinkjet refill and checked the right colour is in the right cartridge! The main paper I use is Permajet Smooth Gloss 280 and has been profiled. The printhead is clear. There is no banding and past prints were superb. I am printing from Photoshop.

Any thoughts welcome, thank you.

First thing, you should post here a clear scan or photo of a nozzle test, so we could see possible issues.
Check again if magenta ink and NOT Photomagenta is in the magenta cart. Those inks look similar at eyesight inside a bottle or dripping from the outlet of the cartridge.
If there's no ink swap, reds turning orange might mean clogged nozzles in the red or magenta channels. If nozzle test is good, then perhaps ink starving. but you say there's no banding..
Although it would be rare, another possibility are settings changed accidentally in Photoshop or the driver and you didn't notice.

Thank you for your reply Artur5.

As requested here are 2 scans from the Pro 10s. The print head sheet looks fine to the eye, I think the scan has added some screen clash. The car file is showing the exact problem.

Thank you for your help.

Paul

Ok, The problem is Photoshop. I printed the same file from 'Apple Preview' and it's a lot better, but I can't think what has changed in Photoshop?

Goods news then. Nothing wrong with the printer or the inks. Your nozzle checks look perfect. :)

What may have changed in Photoshop ? If you’re using a Mac, I don’t dare to guess, knowing very little about the Mac world. In Windows, it must be something on the color management flow. Before printing anything I always check that the driver color management is set to ‘none’ if Photoshop controls color, Also I double check that the profile used by Photoshop and the paper type in the driver are correct, but I expect that you know well these things, if you’ve printing fine until recently.

I gather that you don't own a Pro10. The nozzle checks of @Paul Edmunds look exactly like mine. For some strange reason, on this machine the cyan stripe of the nozzle check is a bit weaker than photocyan. Also, both black stripes aren't darker than the gray. Instead, photomagenta is clearly weaker than magenta.
