Hi all,
I have a Pro-100 coming and have been doing a bit of preparing. I'm going to order inks from Precision and the kits all come with a replacement Yellow cartridge. What I'd like to know is if it's still possible to use the OEM yellow cart if you flush it first or will you still have the issues with it?

Hi @flowrider and welcome, you can use the OEM yellow cartridge as normal till empty, then reset the chip and place it on your new yellow CLl-8 cart, then dump the empty OEM yellow cartridge..

Thanks. I was going to swap the chip to the new cart but I also have another yellow cart I was hoping to reuse so I had another yellow cart ready to go. I guess I'll just save the chip and toss the cart. Are the chips specific to the colour?

Don’t try to refill your OEM yellow carts, it may very well end in disaster, it’s safer to only keep the chips, all Canon chips are specific to each colour, like Cyan chip will only work in the Cyan cartridge position and so on..
