Pro 100 keeps getting clogged

I have successfully used the purge unit test posted by @turbguy , both to find and correct a disconnected hose (window cleaner didn't stay on the purge pad when it should) and a blockage in the purge system (window cleaner didn't get sucked away when it should). I recommend the test and I think the instruction is clear. The purge unit is vital in keeping the print head in good working order.

Beware of YouTube videos. Some are made by helpful people who know their stuff, but others are made by people with wrong ideas about how the printer works. Even worse, some videos are deliberately wrong, made to cause damage. See this and this thread.

you won't find any youtube video on this. This is the closest I found.

Keep in mind Pro-100's purge pads are not in the open like the video.
You have to use a flashlight to see from the side. But you won't have a problem reaching with a syringe from the side. Fill it with Windex and fill the pads like the video.

I will be reporting my result after waiting a few more days. But so far looking good.

I'm sure the video by Jose Rodriguez is correct, but it does not apply to Canon printers. The purge unit in Canon and Epson printers behave differently. If you drip Windex onto the purge pads in a Canon printer in the way shown in the video it should not drain away but pool onto the pads.

Indeed, only the 2 purge pads on the right need to be sprayed with the use of a syringe.
By switching the printer off and on the purge pump will drain the liquid.
If it does not there is a problem.

Could you let me know the correct way then? It did pool, and I thought that was okay.

The ink pooling on the pads is only half of the test passed. It shows there are no leaks between the pump and the pads. You also need to test the function of the purge pump, this is step two in the purge test. After closing the lid the printer goes through a startup procedure and should pump the pooled liquid away. Open the lid again after the start up procedure has finished and inspect the purge pads. The liquid should now have been sucked away.

Edit: If the closing of the lid doesn't trigger the purge pump, then do a manual nozzle cleaning from the maintenance menu to verify the function of the purge pump.

Without YouTube showing the method, I have no confident of the cleaning.

I just tried it and it worked for my pro100. I let it sit on top. turned my printer on and it cleared the 6a00 code. Now I am back to printing again. I will take his advice and clean once a month to prevent any more problems. Glad I watched this video instead of throwing it away like I did my last printer.
