Printing transparencies

Is it cheaper just to get Staples to do it @ probably a buck a copy? (CanD)

Several companies make inkjet coated transparany materials. just google inkjet transparency and you can then check out the compatability with your printer - dye based or pigment based inks.

you need foils suitable for inkjet print as mentioned, they are available in various configurations. Some have a removable paper edge either at the top or the side to let your printer know that you are feeding paper, otherwise a sensor may not recognize transparent material. Please be aware that
color prints don't look very pretty when displayed, the HP printer is using pigment inks to my knowledge, and those pigments are not translucent like dye inks so the color may look rather dull, with not so much color saturation. Sometimes a good b/w foil does look better than a dull color foil, tha requires some testing for the best results.

Good info! When my R1800 was behaving itself I toyed with the idea of printing big "transparencies" of photos for display. Now that I have a Pro-100 I'll have to try it.

I'm not so sure how opaque pigment ink is. I saw some Pro-10 or Pro-1 prints on metallic paper, and they seemed amazingly transparent. I think that will look great on silver CDs!
