What brand of printer desktop size or wide format has auto 24/7 cleaning cycles built in? That would prevent clogged printheads.

I know that all Brother piezo inkjet printers clean printheads every day. Uses low ink. My MFC-5895CW is 14Years old.

I think all inkjet printers do it, but few publish when and how much. It is an inevitable part of the technique (piezo or thermal).

Strange enough recently even our - most appreciated - expert Keith Cooper started to worry about the PRO 1000/1100 wasting too much ink.
Inflation ?

I think it's inevitable - you need a particular amount of ink per nozzle for a cleaning action, and just look to the number of nozzles per printhead over time - the number of colors of the inks is growing and the width of the printhead as well - more nozzles give you a higher speed or a better resolution , and you get for most colors multiple nozzle rows by Canon etc , and just multiply all that for the total number of nozzles , you get many thousends of nozzles alltogether, that can easily get you into 5000 or more. And you need a drop of ink for any of these nozzles.

Doesn't Canon, EPSON require you to run cleaning cycles manually. Did they bought patent from Brother allowing them to run cleaning cycles automatically?
