agreed, best to stay away from the new opaque CLI-226's, also good idea to pick up a spare.

might want to look for one using the CLI-221's, those can still be refilled.

The only disadvantages with these later printers is that their cartridges hold a smaller amount of ink and you will need to buy a new resetter for the chips. You will also need to purchase some more empty cartridges as your cl-8 ones will not fit.

As suggested go for a good used IP4300 or IP4500

A Resetter or Redsetter (as it is often called) will reset the chips on your cartridges so that your printer will record ink levels on your refilled cartridges. Although not a necessity it removes the need for you having to physically examine the carts. Personally I wouldn't be without mine.

I'm from the Uk so can't point you to a source in the USA. However, I'm sure that fellow members will help you out. You could also Google for a source.
