Here are a few of the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pa - a rail line used to climb the eastern side of the Allegheny Mountains.

The first is a 360 degree pano showing how the rails curve almost completely back on themselves - the building on the ends is the same building. The second is a map showing the rail line and the third shows the 3 lakes in the cradle of the curve and gives an idea of the elevation change.

Here is one of my backlight experiments - in an otherwise totally dark room.

A few shots of the Taj Mahal - one during the day with a polarizing filter to take the glare off the reflecting pool, and the other taken with a 15 minute exposure at midnight by the moonlight. Unfortunately, there was one bare lightbulb over the entrance that distracts from the picture. Both taken in 1960 on Kodachrome (asa 10).

That's a trip down memory lane!

I like how you and Lucas are going retro as we move forward.

Thanks, stratman! I have thousands of negatives and slides that go back to when I received my first camera (a brownie reflex) at age 13. Many cameras since then, but my favorite film cameras are still sitting on the shelf. I may consider buying a few rolls of 120 b/w film and playing with my rolleiflex. The picture in the park was taken with that camera. Unfortunately, I gave all of my darkroom equipment away a few years ago and will have to send the film out for processing and a contact sheet.

Glad to see that Lucas still enjoys the truly retro experience of using film. His picture is beautiful - fine detail in the bare branches and tree bark areas.
