Thanks, Fotofreek. Actually, it was Neil's Inkjet page that got me to this forum and introduced me to the concept of cleaning the printhead and carts. However, now that I've been reading these threads and links that you and others on this forum have pointed me to, it's all coming together and making more sense. I think that Neil's pages will be even more helpful to me going forward.
A question: I've been very reluctant in the past to use anything but Canon inks because of the stories I had heard about clogging, etc. However, as you all know, using the Canon inks is a very expensive 'hobby' and seeing what you're all doing has inspired me to experiment. I would like to try the refilling method but is it also okay to use some of the compatible inks that are out there? I know there are many different brands doing this, but TigerDirect, who I've brought the refurbished 1960 from, is selling Amazon Imaging inks for half the price of the Canon (a pack of the 6 different inks is about $35.) Does anyone know anything about this brand?
