Copying and pasting the password from post #1 worked for me. Probably post #1 was edited to correct an error?

Since my main source of extra money ( I am now retired ) is producing instructional DVD on various Hobbies such as model making and machining practices ( Not photography or printing ) I have a need for a disc printer.

I currently have a BRAVO II which uses the older "LEXMARK 16 and 26" style carts.
Yes you can of course refill them but the thermal heads on those carts do wear out after a few refills.

Another option is to CAREFULLY transfer the colored decal from the underside of the OEM carts onto regular Lexmark equivalents which is quite tricky to do without damaging them.
Or you can obtain and actual scan of the original color and black OEM cart's bear code and print them onto matte paper with a pigment printer or a color laser and use those.
You can get those carts on EABY very cheap sometimes.

I had always wanted a model 4100 or higher but was waiting to hear of a workaround for ink.
Guess that has now been worked out.

Some folks have said that you can rotate A-B-A and so on until you have run 5 full sets of OEM inks ( $$$$ ), then the printer forgets about the 1st one and will recognize the first one as a new one.
I am not entirely sure about that as I have not heard anything else about that theory.

But hey did is not a bad way to go is you own one of these great high speed disc printers.

If you really into DVD/CD or BluRay production please check out Epson DiscProducer machines
My younger brother owns a PP100 DVD and CD (USB Port Only) and he is tutoring seminars at the university ranging from 20 to 120 students. They have to split into groups 3~5 students which gives him a maximum amount of 40 Groups, each group will receive several DVD with Raw footage Video material and an Job desciption what to do with it, is a seminar for broadcasting media relations

so basically for a period of 2,5 Month my brother had to burn and print at least 350 DVDs
he did it ONCE manually with two dvd drivers and my P50 (artisan 50) after that he calculated who much he earned tutoring this class and how much he spend to prepare it... NO WAY he was compensated for the effort he put in, we both checked what was available, also checked various "used" Primera machines, and thought WOW this is genious, I the discovered the PP100 6 Color printing with claria inks (same as the P50) 100 Disc capacity, easy software all included

great, checked the german version of craigslist > kleinanzeigen.ebay.de and voila found a local pickup 20min drive by car for 500 € working unit but HEAVLY used, whatever no worries

He picked it up, printed over 5.000 DVDs today (not just for the university but also batch jobs) due to the total usage of the machine (over 195.000 disc) it fails now and then to burn, but defective copies are being marked with an RED X, easy to sort out.

The time he saved was amortized within the first day !

I have looked at that printer but is there a 3rd party ink solution for it?

yes there is

1.) Either refill OEM and reset the chips with an resetter http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=resetter+pp100 (HARD TO DO SO)

2.) Get refillable Carts http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=pp100+cartridge AND a set of Original Chips AND Resetter

3.) Get refillable Carts AND Chip Decoder http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=pp100+decoder
The Chip decoder is installed internally and will ensure that the Ink Levels stay 100% at all times, practically it will render the mechanism disabled

My brother went for option 2.)
He is thinking about an service maintenance for the machine to get "fresh" DVD drives in it and so on, after that maybe option 3. sounds solid
