All of them! LOL
Guys I recently received a set of the new inks for the CANON PRO 9500MKII from Precisioncolors for me to give them a try!

So as always, I put together a video covering the test from beginning to the end results!
Good or Bad!

Here is the video video I did!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzY6sqEn4Z8

First part I show the original inks and the results that one gets on CANON PRO Luster paper.
Anything using Magenta is practically MATTE!!!! Which has been pretty typical of ALL 3rd party pigment based magenta inks!

Second part is my method for swapping from the original inks to the New Ones.
I aspirated the old inks, purged with distilled water, removed all the purging water using the modified snap on port gadget we have been using.
Then added about 4-5 ml or new inks. Aspirated that.
Then filled to capacity with the new inks.
That should have given me nearly 100% new inks to work with. Not perfect but close to it.

Third part I print using Original OEM Profiles. Precisioncolors custom profiles for D50 and lastly with my own custom profile for the new inks.

I will be hard to discern in the video, but the PC profiles D50 produces VERY good results with slightly more open shadow detail than mine.
COLOR rendition and reproduction between the two profiles is visually indistinguishable on finished prints!

The OEM profile caused a somewhat warm result on B&Ws
The PC D50 profile was neutral but ever so slightly cooler when viewed under my viewing lights which are not optimal to say the least.
Otherwise they prints are awesome!
My profile produces what appears to be slightly deeper blacks but not by much.
B&Ws are perfectly neutral to my eyes under my lights. Both prints, by both profiles are actually awesome!

But now for the biggest improvement and the reason I will ordering a second batch of INKs
The original inks suffered for pretty bad gloss differential and bronzing on many papers with a sheen including CANON's own. The culprit as always in the magentas! But also the original inks often produced deep blacks that would be way more glossier than the paper base gloss or sheen.

Now those problems are pretty much GONE!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, it is not 100% absent as even OEM inks of CANON and EPSON cause some degree of Gloss Differential and bronzing on some papers, these new inks are as good as anyone would ever wish.

Looks like I will be using the PRO9500MKII quite often again!

Joe, thanks for the great review. This was a 2015 summer of work in addition to the Pro-10 update as well as working on the PCK3HD Epson type pigments which will also address the issue of gloss in aftermarket inksets...especially with respect to cost. Many will be pleasantly surprised. 2015 was a major year for me pretty much updating ALL the newer inksets as well as the new Maxify line of Canon Office printers. 2016, I have demanded we take a real holiday. The last one, a week, in 2015 was a wedding where I was a photographer...i.e work.

I have not been able to roll out the Epson PCK3HD on the site totally quite yet but it has been shipping. For 2016, I will be putting on more illumination options in the ICC profiles. One of them is the D65. It has long been debated, which is correct. D50 or D65? Well I will put the argument to rest now as I will reissue where I can the D65 as well. Why? In my tests, there are cases where the D65 might be better in my eyes but that is user preference and certainly lighting related to the location. Where? in many cases where the illumination is brighter especially when influenced by exterior light. Also, if you get some very very slight tinges of green in lighter skin tones, the D65 will cure it...i.e light related. Finally, in your assessment of the shadows....The D65 seems to close them down more than the D50, so you'll notice darker shadows.. So it is a worthwhile exercise to download both and print a similar image and assess the differences. In the future there will be 5 illumination options, D50, D65, Tungsten Quartz and Cool White Fluorescent and Daylight Fluorescent.

At the end of 2016, I hope to get into the QTR B&W profiles as well....if the Pro-1000 project does not jump ahead.

Joe, you proved again how easy it is to refill the PRO 9500(II).

I mostly use luster paper too (although the old Sihl glossy paper from Lidl takes pigments very well), but was frustrated the reds were so matte (I replaced the magenta long ago with Prodinks because I had ink feed problems in the MX7600 and IX7000 - strange enough this is the only colour that is better than the old Magenta from Precision Colors - if not I probably had stopped refilling).

Already have the new PC9-PM and PC9-R, still have to empty the old C,GY and M.
Looking forward to many years with my 9500's :).

Yes, that little adapter that someone here designed really does make the job a heck of a lot easier to do.
So I assume you already have the new ink set? If so, I truly believe you will be very happy with it.

Thanks for doing the comparison Jose. The new inks look terrific I can't believe we can now use the 9500 on luster or gloss with hardly any gloss differential. This is great news & thanks to Mike for doing the work.

I have the new Red and PM, the first IMO makes the greatest advance in glossiness as clearly can be seen in your video.

As with most of us I have my own habits.

Personally I do not use the modified clip tool for refilling, I drip until 30,50 - 31g on the scale (new Canon carts are 31-31.50g).
Official volume is 14ml.
The ink counter of the 9500 II is on the safe side, the carts are marked empty (red sign) at 17.5-18g, no risk to burn the head.
Since all ink is in a bag, without additional sponge, there is no advantage to stop at the yellow warning.

On the contrary, when you need to flush, the carts can't be dried completely (with the ghwellshr method), you have to spend a few ml ink to rinse as you mentioned.
Indeed, flushing is only needed when changing to a different ink.

I even suspect flushing does no good to the outlet membrane. In the cases I had to flush (the magenta story, testing other inks, ...) I regularly ran into problems which were only solved by discarding the cartridge and start over with a fresh Canon one.
Since all 3rd party inks claim compatibility with OEM, I never flush in that case.

Other than with standard dye ink types with sponge, IMO flushing does not rejuvenate a cartridge.

In normal operation just refill over and over again, with the clips on no air can enter in stored carts.
No additional holes are drilled, no ink can leak, the cartridge continues to work 100% as designed by Canon.

OTH the PRO 9500 II is no printer for day to day use, it is slow, can't print double sided, has no paper tray, network or wifi connection.
There are few 3rd party ink suppliers (among them one good), and the price advantage with OEM is only 3 to 5 times depending on volume ordered (Canon ink is sold on the web with large discounts). Plus resetter, scale etc.
Suppose you need 2ml for an A3 (it is more) it will cost you € 1.40 with OEM and € 0.30 with 3rd party.
Negligible when you print on Hahnemühle at € 3.50 a sheet.
There is good paper for less, but you can't print on everything.

That's why refilling will stay a hobby, enjoy.
