Has anyone done a microscopic examination on the old magenta to determine the presence of bacteria or fungal contamination? Or is it a material change in the magenta dye itself?

Grazer5's post in the other thread might suggest that it isn't old ink, at the rate he is using it.

The print head from my 9000 II showed a partial obstruction of the magenta slot on the output grid. Not having a microscope, I cannot determine what form it takes.

Third slot from the left.

I have had numerous discussions with Image Specialists on this and they assure that the dye they purchase has not changed. This does not mean that THEIR supplier has not changed it or even maybe the supplier to IS supplier. It is not the formulation itself per se. But something has changed and not within Image Specialists knowledge or control. Any other change would have affected other colors as well....So the culprit appears to point to the dye and what it comes with. Eventually they will find out but as for myself, the only solution is to move on to another supplier which I now have done.

First is the pro-100 revision that no longer uses the Image Specialists magentas completely.

Next to be listed will be the Magenta and Photomagenta substitutes for the Cli-8 series.

OK first of all i find this thread to represent one of the finest in customer service.
Second, since i just purchased my first kit from you back in late Fall, should i be concerned about using the 3 colors mentioned?.........namely the clogging issue?

Third, i find that selling the 3 4oz upgrade kit for such a low price to be an outstanding way of taking care of us that use your product.

cheers,
-mike

Of course my concern here is in regards to head clogging.
Colors currently have exceeded our expectations.

cheers,

It could also be construed that his comments are due to the original reputed clogging issue with magenta colours. Possibly Mike is trying to evaluate the degree of improvement with the new formulation.

I know we have had a couple of posts on this site about the measure of a man is his ability to write in acceptably coherent English syntax, BUT many of the participants on this board did not learn English as a first language, or have had to overcome the disadvantage of an English only education.

I do not have to defend Mike's position. He is quite capable of speaking for himself, but I also know that he is incredibly busy running a small business and has a family. That does not much spare time for browsing the forums.

Finally I also have the same concerns - clogging, light fastness, consistency, matched gamut range, manufacturing integrity, etc. I am balancing that against the fact that over he fast few years Precision Colours has gone beyond the call of duty with customer service and help for me. Frequently sending follow-up emails with expanded explanation where necessary.

Enough for now. As is my nature, have written an epistle instead of the intended couple of lines.

Lucky you that you haven´t received elusive answers, also you received e x p a n d e d explanations! Maybe the call of duty is restricted to Canada!

Is that you, Apostle Roy, faithful follower of Canon law?
