Pixma Pro-1 claiming low ink

Hello all,

I've given up on the inner door issue on the one Pro-1 we have (see my other thread if interested), and am trying to get the other one going. After swapping the head and the inks into the second unit, it tries to print a test page but insists the following:

"Support Code : 1360 The remaining level of the following ink is not enough to perform the system cleaning function", and lists all twelve colors.

Here's the thing, though. The total page count across all of the ink cartridges is exactly ZERO! I haven't printed a damn thing on either printer, so how could the ink be low? The ink level check page shows ink in all cartridges (although not full, it's worth noting). Anyone got an idea about what's going on here???

FWIW, these came from another institution with whom we share facilities, so we have no purchase records and can't get warranty service. These printers were freebies, and I'm starting to understand why. They're about to head back out to the hallway for someone else to fight with. I've put a lot of hours into coaxing them into working, and it's not worth much more!

The System clean will use about 40% of the contents of every cartridge and if the printer ascertains there isn’t enough ink remaining then it can’t/won’t perform the operation, you may need a new set of carts to get around this problem.:(

Can you post the on-screen ink levels please ...?
P.S. these machines loves to guzzle ink during maintenance... :hu

Levels attached. All but one clearly have more than 40% in there, but it says they're all too low. It probably went through this cleaning on the other unit, which is why they're not full. So far, I haven't managed to print a single page on either one!

Good grief, that's a LOT of ink just to get the thing started. It's brand-freakin'-new. I wish it would let me at least print a test page without doing this crazy, ink-sucking cleaning. You're not doing much to convince me that these bad boys are worth the trouble! o_O

They're worth the trouble when you get past the setup. I remember going through this same cleaning cycle when I fired up my used Pro 1.

Try replacing the Matte Black and it should run the set-up for you this time, and it takes about 20 minutes to have a bath with your ink, but don’t expect there to be much ink left after its finished, well maybe just enough for a couple of photos... ;)

Done that all ready and switched to 3rd party inks very quickly...:)
