@PeterBJ Thanks for clarifying that. I have an old HP all-in-one that suffered total colour loss. I assumed it was a purge unit issue but I never did managed to fix it.
@mikling Thanks. I did try that but had trouble getting the paper clip far enough along without it bending. I think the 551 carts have longer sponge sections than the ones in the video. Or maybe it was just a bendy paperclip. @The Hat 's method was a new one on me and seems to have less risk of misaligning the sponge. I'm thinking that another way might be to drill a hole in a suitable location through the top of cart to get easier access to the sponge, and then seal it with a glue gun or bung afterwards.
