Piano Book has sprung a leak

Hi. I have the piano book purchased from Leonard John at least 5 or 6 years agio. It has been awesome. I noticed this morning my light magenta line was filled with air so I took the cap off the cartridge to release air and ink squirted out the tubing. I found a slight nick in the tube - probably got pinched in the back of the printer case somehow. Is there anything at all that can be done other than replace the unit? I'm guessing not but wondered about a dab of E6000? Has anyone else had this happen? Thanks much.

That tubing can be picked up in a pet shop that sell fish if there’re one near you or you can check @Leonardjohn site and they may have separate tubing for sale there.

Failing that you could try putting a piece of aluminium tape over the hole to see if that would seal it up permanent or splice the tubing where the hole is and use a joiner to connect the tubing again.

Last but not least you could always buy a brand new one again..

Thank-you - I appreciate those ideas. I tried a small piece of tape but it started to come loose after the first print and I could see some ink on it. I will try the foil. Not sure I am knowledgeable enough to do the splicing but I might see if I can figure it out. Otherwise - purchasing a new one is not that tragic. Thanks again.

Hi Anne and Hat

Sending you a double sided nipple (splice connector), ink tube with cartridge elbow and seal.

First remove the excess plastic or sharp edge on the printer's lid that caused the problem.

Attach nipple to each end of the splice (outside of printer), attach cartridge elbow, route ink tube, this will make a good mechanical connection.

Purge cartridge of air, instructions are on the website LJHEnt.com FAQ section.

Update
Hi. I received the tubing Leonard - thank-you! I was able to splice the old tubing and insert the new. It prints a clean nozzle check and says there is half a cart of light magenta but there is still a lot of air in the tube and ink is not running through especially at the top coming out of the piano book. I elevated and pulled plug per instructions and no ink flowed as it usually does so maybe time will tell. I'm guessing there must already be ink in the cart that is keeping it printing?
I'll see what happens and if all else fails I'll get the new and improved model. I'll continue to try purging it. I appreciate your help and sending me the kit.

Update - Success
Well, I did not even have to do any more purging - it just started flowing once all the ink in the cart ran out I guess. Anyway - it's working like new again. Thanks Leonard and also The Hat.
