Paperjam error at output tray

Hi,

have a problem with my Canon iP4700 series printer.

was printing photo recently when the paper got jammed.pulled out and removed whatever pieces of paper visibly stuck in the printer but when i tried resume printing,printer don't seemed to work.

Error remains. Paper jammed at output tray. Tried searching for any remaining pieces stuck inside but can't find any.

Tried removing the printer casing but still can't find the problem.

Any idea how to resolve this?

To resolve your problem try cutting a piece of A4 card 2 wide and manually feed it into your printer, then turn your printer on.
If the card stays there and fails to be ejected turn off the printer, then put another A4 paper sheet in the rear tray
then open the Properties tab on your printer and click on (View printer Status)
now click on Display Print Queue and click on (Printer) on the drop down menu click the word pause printing.

Turn your printer on again and try to print a test page, when the test page appears in the print queue
then go to (printer) and undo the pause printing again.

The printer on start up should reject the piece of card and do a quick head clean followed by the test print,
hopefully it will work out just like above and everything will be back to normal.

The worst thing in the world to do to a paper jam is to pull the offending paper out backwards.
The best way to remove a paper jam is to cut away as much of the paper as possible
and then shove the remainder through the printer and out the exit path..

When paper passes through your printer the little sensor lever is moved out of the way
of the feed sensor so that it can see light shining through it.

If the lever is stuck or bent out of position, the printer is going to think that
there's a paper jam and give you a paper feed error.

The sensor lever which should be straight may not be and
this can cause the sensor to remain permanently open.

Turn the printer around to see the paper feed tray.
The sensor is down on the left-hand side passed the feed rollers,
but before it gets to the tiny rollers on the inside of the printer.

If you use a flash light you may be able to see this sensor and with the aid of a piece wire
or screwdriver or even heavy card jiggle it back into its correct position.

The other option is to take the top cover off your printer to gain proper access to it
and that will make repairs a lot easier.
