no i didn't join the mailing list, because i know how those work, usually you post and someone answer
Why haven't you joined? Bizarre.

Profile check complete, peak err = 5.199439, avg err = 0.464654, RMS = 0.606981

Are these values good ?
Why are you still asking ArgyllCMS questions here?

a search engine is not included, but you have to scroll all the archives and search page by page or tread by tread a topic hoping it has your answer/questions.
This is entirely FALSE. The search function is on the archive page and results appear to span the entire archive.

Never heard about, anyway it is the same size as A4.

I have SRA3 cardboard, that's 450mm x 320mm (regular A3 420x297, A3+ 483x329)

Hi again i'm comparing the ICC profile for Ferrania Matte Paper with the ICC profile fo Epson Matte Paper, i know the paper quality is different, but i wanted to see which has more gamut.

I didn't find any software to compare the icc profiles so i used

https://www.iccview.de/3d-color-space.html

i uploaded the standard Epson Matte profile and the Ferrania Matte profile generated from ArgyllCms

I compared both with sRGB colorspace and between them

Attached there are the differences netween 3d color space and the profiles and between two profiles.

From what i undestand both profiles can't replicate the sRGB color space or i'm wrong ?

the Epson Matte Paper profile can replicate more "colors" vs Ferrania Matte Paper profile i created, right ?

Do you think this is a problem with the number of patches used or depends from the paper type, Ferrania Mette is 120gsm while Epson Matte is 167gsm

I tried to read the Conax Paper (chinese brand i suppose) after 24 hours of dry, but while reading the first strip of color patterns, some color faded on the next pattern how if the ink was not dryed still.

Is it possible after 24 hours ? It says Instant Dry :)

That's quite typical for this type of paper, just take it as it is, it's not a matter of the weight or the number of color patches but the coatings are different

You are printing with too much ink, or probably on the wrong side of the paper

sRGB color space - please be aware of plenty variations

too much ink is possible, but i don't know how to tell the printer to use less ink

wrong side, i don't think so, if i put the sheet under a light, the printed side is brillant and shine while the other side is not so brillant and muted white
sRGB color space - please be aware of plenty variations

If the ink still smears on the paper after a day try to print on the other side - a small image whatever - and compare it with the first print

The paper selection and quality setting both define an ink limit for the selected paper, amongst some other internal parameters

now that i have a profile for the Ferrania Optijet Matte Paper i would like to try it, so i copied the icc profile in the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles directory but i can't find it (like paper) in Preview neither in Adobe Color Print Utility.

Does i have to use Lightroom/Photoshop to use profiles built with Argyllcms ?
