Hello all,

I have a kodak esp5 printer about 6 months old with no problems until the other night.

I turned it on and straight away it swallowed all the loaded paper, about 10 sheets.

The only way to get them out was to keep pulling but that ruined the printer.

Fortunately, (or unfortunately) I have another printer (same model) and installed that.

There was no paper in but a message came up "Paper Jam". I followed the instructions and pressed the OK button etc it said "Please Wait".

Nothing happened. And I am still waiting.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

I don't want to ruin two printers.

Thanks

Vin

If they are only six months old, they are probably still under warranty and you should get Kodak to fix or replace them.

Thanks

The first printer was about 6 months old and that's ruined.
The second printer I bought from ebay second-hand about 6 months ago so that is out of date.

If you bought the first printer six months ago, and especially if you have a receipt, you should still be able to make a claim because the printer clearly malfunctioned, even if you think you ruined it in the course of trying to remove the paper. I would argue that the printer was already ruined with 10 sheets of paper in it. Printers aren't supposed to do gobble up all the available paper no matter what you do.

And I would also try to make a claim on the second printer. Kodak should be able to tell whether the printer is under warranty from the serial number. It can't hurt to try.

Thanks for your reply but I'm more concerned about getting this printer to work.

I did not keep any receipts of either printer and I do not want the hassle of sending it back etc.

I just want it working.

Thanks

Usually, when a printer manufacturer is covering a printer under warranty, they will ship a new printer out overnight and provide instructions for you to return the defective printer, postage paid, in the same box. I wouldn't pass up the chance to see if this will work for you with a simple phone call.

It sounds to me like manufacturing defects that cannot be fixed other than be replacing the printer.
