Will attempt that route and report back. What about ink quality?, You recommended Aomya. Challenge would be to make sure it's really Aomya and not a knock off.
If you are buying from AliExpress you buy directly from their site or OCBESTJET, they almost the same.

Any feedback on the pigment quality vs original inks?. I've read some vendors delivering the ink with ICC profiles but can't find any for Aomya.

If you are able to get your printer back to life that's a very big congratulations to you. As per quality, it is a general believe that third party inks can not meet the quality of OEM inks but I think we go for third party inks mainly because of the cost. As for ICC profile, if you have az3100 as you said then you are one of the lucky refillers on earth. The printer is loaded with a spectrophotometer which allows you to create ICC profile any ink set and media you want to use.

Regarding the ink, I'm wondering if low-cost-but-lower-quality is worth it.

Might provide printing services with this printer, and unhappy customers don't come back. Right now I'm getting OEM cartridges to properly test the printer after the repairs.

I'm about to buy pigment ink "per liter" from Aomya + the ARC-based cartridges, but dimineshing quality makes me doubt on the plan.

It’s very simple.. If you going to sell prints then, use only OEM ink and don’t short change your customers, they deserve the best quality..

OEM inks are the best, most especially when providing printing services. To get the ultimate for your customers using OEM photo papers along is the best as the inks are profiled with the papers.

That would be HP paper?. On that front I got people asking for Hahnemühle paper, non OEM but highly regarded from what I understood.

Problem is I know nothing about this machine, I thought I was getting a plotter. Nonetheless I can use it to print my photos and advertisements for our products.
Finding refillable cartridges has been not so easy, I’d like a set with resettable chips.
Bought a new teflon belt as I am assuming what’s there hasn’t much of a life, but we’ll see.
Main questions are what parts should I expect to replace, and anyone have a clue about the refillable cartridges? Found a place in India but a set wasn’t enough for them for an order!
Might have bitten off a bit much.
I wonder how is your box opening quest?.

On my side, I've already changed:

- motherboard
- PSU
- 4 x cartridges (B, GN, PK, MK)
- belt
- paper pulling mechanism starwheels
- cleaning station cotton

Moving further after each new error. On Monday the story continues. Might risk changing:

- Printheads (usually die clogged when stored for long periods)
- Rear loading paper tray (supports are broken, might print precutted/smaller papers)

Out of curiosity, in other forums somebody mentioned using refillable cartridges with original HP ink from HP 91 cartridges, allegedly lowering cost but keeping quality.

Does is make sense?
