I think we can give your printer a clean bill of health So hopefully everything will be fine with a new supply of paper.
That an uploaded picture could look differently when wieved in a browser also sounded strange to me, so I did a little test:
I tried viewing your uploaded picture in both Firefox v. 5.0 and IE 8 and I downloaded the picture and opened the file in both Nero Photosnap viewer and Irfan View and compared the pictures side by side. There were some small differences, with IE showing the dullest picture, followed by Firefox, then Nero Photosnap Wiever and Irfan View giving the clearest colours especially in the red. So it seems different applications treat JPEG files differently.
