Nozzle cleaning needed after printer is idle overnight

Gear:
Canon MP560
Canon cartridges
3rd party ink

Issue:
Prints come out streaky. Nozzle check pattern shows Pigment black and Cyan wrong. Run nozzle cleaning and printer will print perfectly (done as many as 28x 8x10 prints). Once the printer stops printing, after a "cool down" period, the streaking returns on the Pigment black and Cyan and I have to run nozzle cleaning again. The problem only happens on these two cartridges and only after the printer is idle (several hours).

Any ideas on what I can do to diagnose / fix the problem?

Thanks you.

Dear Ryan,

i've have the same problem and I found that adding windex (~10% solution in ink) helps to keep everything soluble. Even after a couple of days, although I print everyday, even when I don't need to print just to keep the ink flowing.

You CAN try this but it is at own risk. My nozzles are in the carts themselves, if I mess it up I can chuck em out and insert a new one. If your nozzles are fixed inside of the printer you want to be CAREFULL.

Good luck :D

You could start again by cleaning out your cartridges, and getting a better quality ink..

Have a look at this thread and see if anything there helps you.
Thanks for the link. Sounds exactly like the problem I'm having. I'll try the steps mentioned in that thread.

The problem is with the cartridge, just get a new one, or an empty virgin and use the german durstich method if you use top filling may sure the cart is perfectly sealed otherwise you will get this to happen.

Fresh set of OEM cartridges fixed the problem. I'll try to "purge" the bad cartridges and see if I can get them working again.

Thanks for your help everyone!

I had this happen once with an OEM cyan cartridge that had only been refilled 4-5 times using the German method. I'm still not sure what happened to it, I could see no visible difference with that cartridge and others that I have.

I purged the cartridge and it made no difference. Let us know if purging yours fixes the problem or if you observe anything strange with your cartridge.

A new OEM cartridge also fixed my problem.
