Clicked on the link and I see a QY6-0053
95% of canon printheads which are offered from private without a nozzle check print are defective, I think...

I suppose if someone is stuck and needs another print head then it might be worth the gamble, after all the alternative is a new printer..

Hi Palombian, I don't know if you speak french or dutch or both, but looking at the add it states "Suite à panne définitive et à changement de matériel" which means the printer from which is was pulled was deemed defective and replaced. Just thought I'd point it out since sometimes a defective printer can kill a printhead.

Your remark is correct.

As I understood (I speak french and dutch) it is a new printhead.
But indeed, the package is open and the head has most probably been tried in the printer.

IMO the price justifies the gamble (I have no personal advantage in this deal, on the contrary).

Personally I always keep working printer/head combos to avoid the self-destroying scenario.
This enabled me already to transfer a good (100% perfect nozzle check) head I got with a cheap model to a higher level printer in the same range (that I got for free with a partly damaged head).

Most people have no idea how to handle an inkjet printer and over- or underestimate the problem/value of the printer.
This is the sport of second hand buying.

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
Remember that there was a hard won lesson with Canon printheads... Sometimes if a printer dies it can effectively turn the printhead into a poison pill which, when inserted into a new printer, kills that printer too.

Had it happen a LONG time ago now but there's a few threads where other folk experienced that so may be more than just the €15 at stake here?
