After speaking with Mom about her printing needs i have determined that the XP 600 is really way more printer than she needs. After looking at the Epson site, the XP-200 fits the bill and will likely be the choice.
Ive been able to find a set of ARC chipped cartridges for 12.98( alibaba.com) but will look for something a little more domestic to make the purchase likely. that said i still cant seem to find the model number so to speak of the cartridges for the XP200
Where should i look for bulk ink to do refills?

Alibaba also sells ink sets. I think their free shipping store is called AliExpress. Another free shipping store is Linexports. It's a bit more costly than AliExpress, but not really expensive.

But maybe you rather buy premium ink at one of the sites in the US, to prevent clogging.

i am familiar with alibaba and alibaba express and have made purchases before, the question is, is there a TYPE of ink that i need/should use..
I.e
Pigment based, or dye based..anything else i should consider when choosing an ink?

so its pigment based, presumming then that any pigment based ink will work( quality not withstanding, obviously looking for good quality), thanks for the link..pints is a lot for her needs, but even so, reasonable price relative to the cost of OEM cartridges
