This morning I try to start my second Epson SC-P900 (second hand) and suddenly it gave an error 031006 and an a terrible burnt smell is coming from the printer. I am afraid this printer is for the waste bin. I have searched and it could be the mainboard fused or connectors or both. To complicated for me, so to be dumped unfornately. I hope my first Epson SC-P900 has a better longevity.

Ohh well, I ordered an ET-8550 today. I hope this machine will do better. Still having my other Epson SC-P900, but the second one was second hand version and suddenly died with alot of burning smell coming from the printer and probably mainboard or print head are both fused and kaputt.

Oof! If it was second hand and I'm guessing has had some moving around it may have had ink or similar that shorted out some of the electronics. That's gotta hurt though. Hope it wasn't too expensive.

Actually I exchanged my older P800 with this P900 to upgrade, but nevertheless I did not expect the printer was dead so soon. The person, with whom I exchanged the printer wanted the older version to convert to DTF, so maybe during the transport some ink leaked into some critical places causing a delayed fuse and causing this 031006 error.

This is sad to hear, I was / and still am following your journey with the resetter/chips. There is no way this was due to them , right?

Not at all just a unfortunate coincidence of problems. The chips and resetter work perfectly with the other printer
