SD cards can sometimes be revived by formatting them in a camera (it rebuilds the partition table, which a normal PC format would not). Not always, but worth a try.

In this circumstance, is the card still be readable by the 3D printer, or is it unreadable in ANY reader/device? The idea here is to isolate where the issue arises.

The problem would arise when the card was removed from the 3D printer with the Gcode file still on it, but due to my mis-handling it FUBAR’s up when I return it to the PC for reuse, but the tape I've put on the tip has now prevent this from happening...

u gave your son, the computer wizard, a "hand" building his computer.

The correct word to use would be to "assist" my son (Software wizard) with the assembly of his computer... Giving a hand or lending a hand is usually the way it’s said on this side of the pond...

OK. Ground yourself before grabbing the card and then no tape needed.
