Hi,
i need a recommendation for a simple Black and White (color not needed) Home Printer. Only for Text, Tables and Lists. It would be nice if there is any known CISS for this printer available. I dont mind modding a printer to get a low cost per page.
Price could be around 140€ (~170$). Dont mind if its new, old or used, as long as its long-living and easy to maintain.

I am only using standard paper (A4). Printing about 500-1500 pages/month. Computer is using Windows 7.
I dont need any special functionality, like a scanner, duplex, network, wireless or high resolution printing. Also dont care for the size of the Printer or its Vendor.

You rather may look for Epson printers with ink tanks like the L310, they run very cheap even with orginal inks, and you can if needed print with color as well.
Or you look for Epson monochrome printers like this one https://epson.com/For-Work/Printers...-M1030-Monochrome-Inkjet-Printer/p/C11CC82201
Other M-models are equipped with a scanner etc which you don't like or need apparently.
Please be aware that you still have to do a reset on the cartridge(s) which are used in connection with a CISS, the firmware is
not aware of a CISS and counts down the cartridges as always. Depending on the printer and CISS model there are different modes for this reset - e.g. taking out a cartridge or pushing a button.
All that is not necessary with the L310 or similar. The current Ecotank printer series ET...with tanks are all models with a scanner etc, there is no bare ET-printer model but only this L310.
Or you can go with a Canon G1500, as well a model with ink tanks for great convenience , and you just don't use the flatbed scanner on top. This printer uses a pigment black ink which may suit you better for document printinng and durability, the L310 uses dye inks for all colors.

Entry level B/W laser printers come with quite high consumable cost, much higher than with ink tank printers. The toner/ink cost ratio changes very much when going for performance laser printers with compatible toner cartridges. It is a principal upfront decision to make - laser or inkjet

With maybe 18 thousand pages printed per year I think that a B/W laser printer for office use is the best choice. Druckerchannel.de tests a lot of printers and also tests and calculates printing cost per page. See this for B/W laser printers, and this for inkjet printers for office use.

Thanks for your help. So printing a lot with a laser printer will break the drum (some day or another)? How do i know which printer has the cheapest drum replacement? How do i know which laser printer is the cheapest in the long run?
Is it safe to use refill cartridges or will it damage my printer? Do i need a "chip resetter"? Octopus office seems to refill them very cheap.

No that’s not the case, but the cheaper your Laser printer is to purchase, the more costly they are to run and maintain in most cases, much the same as low budget inkjet printers are.

Using compatibles toner cartridges is a good way of reducing your print cost, but only if you print with high volumes, for the average run of the mill home/office the genuine OEM cartridges are better cost wise in the long run...

There is now a range of Epson printers (Ecotank) which come with user refillable tanks and a refill ink supply. They come in various specifications to suit various printing needs. I bought an Expression ET2600 Ecotank for my daughter and she is delighted with it. As a special needs school teacher, she prints off a lot of stuff for her pupils.
