Thanks for the suggestions. It seems, however, I cannot get the driver to "run" without having the actual printer connected. Do you have a solution for that?

I'm not clear what you are looking for - just assign the printer manually virtually to an unused port.
Here is a screen shot of some driver settings - borderless printing and the black overcoat - BEO - can be activated at the same time for various driver/qualits settings.

Thanks a lot, ISF. That answers my question: it seems you CAN print borderless at the highest DPI setting.
