long time member, now my turn with some MP830 PGI5 streaking issues

guess it makes sense to get a spare MP830 print head. is canon still the best place to get one ?? i see a lot of refurb'd ones, but makes sense buy a new sealed one.

According to a Canon tech, both OEM ink cartridges and printheads are good out to two years. Beyond that, or even earlier than that, may be a crap shoot based on storage conditions.

I prefer purchasing new printheads from Canon or a shop if I knew they moved inventory so as to assure the "freshest" part since I may store the printhead for use months later.
