I've seen a LOT of people try something like this, but this is by FAR the best implementation of a full-size 3D benchy that actually FLOATS!!!

See, there are more mad people out there than you’d think..:weee

I know where this guy was coming from and completely sympathise with his quest to build this Benchy and make it work as a functioning boat.

Its obvious when he started that he didn’t think this thing out properly, but that’s what happens when you get these mad ideas.

But let’s be fair, he stayed true to his original idea and got the very first working Benchy boat, and I dare say he will inspire others to go on and make more incredible 3D working models of many different things..

He didn’t concern himself about the cost, until it was too late to stop, because with all these crazy ideas, cost is usually the last thing to be considered, and yes a purchased product would be far cheaper but nowhere near as satisficing.:love

When you own a 3D printer, you want to build things that could never be imagined by anyone else and this guy achieved that in spades, so congratulations to a job well done..:thumbsup

P.S. I’m just glad I didn’t have a 3D printer as big as his…
