I noticed a cheap Canon All-in-one at £ 19.96 from the Black Friday offer. A set of replacement standard, not XL, cartridges is £ 30. So you save 33% on cartridges by buying 2 printers instead of one printer and a set of cartridges.That is truly a disposable printer! Cheap to buy and expensive to run.

Why not, ?...

Its not because i do not think its cool or go all enviro-MENTAL like some over plastic. Its more time related than anything, i just do not have enough time free to design some of the stuff i would like to print. I also suspect i would not be satisfied with a cheaper devices results or it just would not be capable of printing the physical size of stuff id want to do. So id have to buy a higher end device which despite becoming vastly cheaper over the years is still a considerable lump of cash.

Id still like to hear opinions on the DaVinci range of 3D printers though and from any owners reading.

LOL yeah, that applies to many/most cheap printers under the £50-70 ($80 ish) mark though. Ive never seen any really cheap printer i would personally recommend for the reasons you state and more. A couple of the HPs on there are pretty good deals though after the cashback and can be refilled, have aftermarket carts available at reasonable price or have refillable carts available with ARC chips. Not my fave brand but worth a look.
