Okay, Hat! Here's one. How long do these little chip resetters last? I have the little blue one for Canon CLI-8 & CGI-5's I think I got it from Milking 2 or 3 years ago & suddenly it won't reset the chips. Can the batteries be changed? Time for a new one?

Thanks to all!

AH ha, I got a nibble even if your not a newbie pkk. :hugs

Unfortunately the little resetter won’t last forever and when that time comes
then depending on the model you got,
you can replace the batteries for as little as a few pennies. :weee

So yes is the answer but if you also wish you can simply dump it
and get a brand new one instead,
the choice is yours..

Most likely a new battery/new batteries will bring the resetter back to life, but like other electronics resetters can fail. The blue resetters come in different versions, some use a single Lithium CR2032 cell, others use 3 LR41 alkaline button cells. You can remove the bottom of the resetter to replace the battery/ies. You might need to remove some screws first.

It's the batteries. I have the 3 battery version. FYI, I got 500-600 resets out of these batteries over about 3 years.

Thanks again, All
