ipf605 timing strip help

hi,

I am hoping that you all can help me out I just picked up a secondhand imagePROGRAF ipf605 and the dang carriage timing strip came off in transport would anyone be able to help me with getting it back on I can't seem to find any photos or anything online of how it should be installed

Usually those are in place with some hooks you will find parallel to the guide rails, with a spring on one side to keep it under tension.

thats what i thought but if i use the 2 hooks that I assume are where it was then it is super slacked and I can't seem to get it to stay behind the carriage sensor

Precautions about Reinstallation of Carriage Belt

- When reinstalling the carriage belt, push it deeply into the belt holder of the carriage.

thank you all I found the issue Apparently someone had worked on it before me and tried to put a generic strip of somekind. I'm currently trying to find eht right one but looks like it is discontinued everywhere QC3-1888

If you don't have it already then here is a service manual for the printer. See page 4-20, figure F-4-41. The timing strip is called linear scale in this manual.
