IP4500 printing only color stripes

Not good, your printer is probable printing in one direction only, and not the high quality direction. Could very well be a control board or ribbon cable issue rather than a print head issue.....

For me is mystery, why PGBK printing well, if there is one control board and same cable connections.Only diference is in print head. :-(

My be I try disassemble printer a look, if there is some connection problem ....

The problem for us is that no one here has managed to "decode" how Canon (or any other maker) manages to control hundreds or thousands of individual nozzles using so few connections to the print head. There must be a type of multiplexing used, but we here don't know the details.

When I see nozzle checks like that, it just gives me a sinking feeling. I'm going to weigh in and say print head. You have to factor in the cost of a new printer vs a print head.

Hi,

my two years old printer has a very unpleasant defect. In color print I have only stripes from every color cartridge. As on picture.
PGBK cartridge printing well.
I use printer every day, than ink drying is not my problem.

Had somebody similar problem?

Ip4500 is a very old printer. Are you sure yours is 2 years old only?

I bought one of last IP4500 on sale...... But it is may be past three years..

Yesterday, I tried disassembly printer, checked cables from control board to printhead, looked at control board and prithead board, but found nothing...:-(

I try buy some used printer, for repair.
