So the scan came out a bit weird. The lighter 2 magenta boxes do print out, some small faint broken lines, but it's there. It's weird that my HP Laserjet MFP didn't pick it up. However, I can say for sure that just about NOTHING cyan printed. The cyan cartridge is nearly full, so it's not that it ran out of ink.
At least on the positive note, I managed to fire off the nozzle check manually in Linux through the command line
To do that, I just had to run:
lpr -o raw 00004.SPL -P Canon-PIXMA-MP610
"Canon-PIXMA-MP610" is what I named my printer as in CUPS. I had to pull the raw spool file of the nozzle check in Windows, as the previous forum posting noted about automating it.
