Invitation to Test other Printer Profiles by Exchange
I have been struggling to achieve satisfactory printer profiles with my current set up. Which is Spyder3 monitor calibration, SpyderPRINT printer profile generation and a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 ll printer with OctoInkJet (Image Specialists) inks.
There are many opinions about the differing profiling instruments. But it is an expensive process for any individual to evaluate a range of models.
It occurred to me that if I could find another member in the uk with, say a ColorMonkey setup, we could exchange target image files by email, print these on our own printer and paper and return the prints by post for profile generation. The profiles could then be exchange via email.
If there are members in this forum who are interested in carrying out reciprocal tests, it may prove to be an ideal way to gain knowledge and experience.
Subject to approval of the Forum management, I am proposing that interested members, who are already experienced in the use of an existing profiling system, make contact through the Forum, stating their model in use and the model of interest with the object of pairing up with others. Working in pairs would minimise the work load, which could be onerous if larger groups were formed.
So my first question is do the management approve this use of the Forum, and subsequently are any members interested.
Regards
Ian
