I have been using an Epson R200 since yesterday and have discovered something new about the bronzing problem. I found that printer setup and color management setup actually are related to the bronzing issue. I took some time to print some 4x6 photos by this Epson printer. The cartridges apparently are not OEM and I saw a slight bronzing on black. The print was totally wrong and too dark and it had bronzing. After messing with some setup and color management stuff suddenly one of the print showed no bronzing. I could not believe it so I looked at the two prints a thousand times. One obviously had some bronzing but the other had none. I eventually changed enough of the setup and color management and the print was great and it had no bronzing either.
What it tells me is that my understanding about bronzing needs some update. It is has something to do with how ink is sprayed over the paper, especially the black ink. The setup and color management or a combination of both somehow produced a print with just the right amount of ink sprayed over the black dots and there is no bronzing. I was knocked off from my chair.
