Hi,
I'm currently using a Canon Pixma Pro-10 to print on old cardboard paper but the ink runs off.

The fact is that I've whiten these cardboard using acetone, but when I print onto it, the ink doesn't adhere to the paper.

Is there something I could use or do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Do an Internet search on 'inkjet receptive coatings'. I've never used the stuff, though.

To print with pigment you also need to use coated papers same for dye inks.

@MauroR When the surface of the paper won’t allow the ink to adhere to it then you’ll need something that will coat the surface to make it more acceptable as @berttheghost suggested.

Hi,
There's a somewhat off the wall possibility that your problem is something else. The cardboard that you're printing on has to be fairly flat. The clearance between the printhead and media is minimal, so the printhead will strike the media if the latter is bowed. That will wipe wet ink all over. Some Canon printers have a way to increase this clearance. The tradeoff with increased clearance is lower resolution, so it's a configurable option.

You might want to check out your local artist supply shops for inkjet printable coatings.
