Solvent inks and thermal print heads are pretty much incompatible, as the heat will cause the solvent to boil off and I imagine the residue would cause clogging pretty quick. Thermal inkjets are very specifically designed for their specific type of ink. Only piezo print heads offer enough durability and flexibility to switch between ink types. You might be able to get away with a dye sublimation ink but I can't guarantee that and those inks do not come cheap.
