Is it possible to use black dye ink to prevent the printer from dying?

First off, I don't want to use dye black ink. I want to produce permanent pigment black ink text on plain paper.

Secondly, it has been reported that suppliers of pigment black ink that mix in dye ink can cause leaking through the large nozzle designed for pigment ink.

Thirdly, I'm seriously considering putting in an external waste ink tank to solve this problem. See this post.
