I know this forum is geared (no pun intended) toward ink refilling, which I am learning a TON about and am glad to have found this site since I am a photography addict and just purchased a PiXMA Pro-100, but that's another story for another day..
Ok, back to the topic at hand, this faulty OJP8500.. Some of you have to be the repair type as I am so I know some of you have seen this problem with certain HP OJ printers where the gear on the left side of the printer that turns the rollers will crack and break off leaving the printer useless. Has anyone successfully found the correct part to fix this issue and actually fixed it?

I would like to at least fix this thing and sell it, if not use it. I hate throwing things away, especially electronics (I'm also a Tech Consultant/Technician)

Thanks for any insight, and... FIRST POST WOOHOO!!

Hi Tim
Would it be possible to reassemble the gear wheel and stick it back together again with some good strong epoxy Adhesive.. :)

In my quest to keep my Designjet 750's running, I've taken up plastic casting (ortho wipers are impossible to get).

If someone wants to mail me (a loan only) a good one I'll make a mould and try casting some new ones.

(edit) actually, if you send me a complete one (does not have to be in one piece) I can try re-assembling it for long enough to take a mould. Australians preferred of course as local postage is much cheaper.
