Printer Model
Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
Thought I'd post up a quick experience of the L7000 series multifunction printers from HP... (usually L7580, L7680, L7780 in the UK)... this should also apply to the K5400..

Rather than repeat it's all here:

Keywords: ARC, reset-chips, HP, K550...

Short version: power on/ power off seems to resolve a lot of errors.

How to use HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 with Windows ME.

I thought of sharing this info, since I'm very sure there are other users like me that wish to do this. :D
One of my computers uses Windows Me OS and I was able to install my pritner L7680 in this computer thru Network connection using secondary printer drivers; I'm very sure it can be done for L7580 and Windows 98 as well. HP does not give any support for Win98 and WinMe OS anymore, so there are no drivers available for these OS. Please keep in mind, It's only thru Network port, NOT USB port connection, and not able to use software with it ( No scanning, faxing thru PC), just printing.
Thanks to PennState for this info. Follow the instructions, Here is the link

For printer drivers I used HP DeskJet 870C, provided by WinME add Printer wizard and works fine.
I also used a cd of all-in-one HP OfficeJet 7100 series & D series drivers and works even better ( Hint: make sure the settings are in the right tray, Lower or Upper tray, otherwise it will show "out of paper")
The bottom line, use drivers from HP all-in-one printers that have similar functions to L7x80.

Good luck. :)
