I had a HP D7250 printer and purchased refillable cartridges and ink(precision ink). That printer clogged on me. Tried cleaning cartridges, print clean etc. The magenta colors would not print. I got a used C5180 printer that used the 02 cartridges and it worked great. So it could not have been a clogged cartridge. Now I am having the same trouble with the magenta colors:( not printing at all. Anyone know what is going on? Is there a way to clean the area between the cartridges and the paper? Any help would be appreciated. I really like the refillable cartridges, but if I have replace the printer every 5 months.

It is probably the ink you are using that is clogging the printer. Once the printer stops printing a colour you normally have to strip it right down to get to the print head to clean it. You can try this. Empty your compatible cartridge and fill it with some Nozzel Rocket cleaning fluid and put it in the printer. then get a syringe with a sharp needle and push it through your rubber fill plug on your compatible cartridge and suck out the syringe to full it with your cleaning fluid and let the syringe go. do this a few times. This will mix the cleaning fluid with the ink in the lines and should get to the print head. leave it sit over night and print a test page to see any changes. if it works replace the cleaning fluid with your ink and print as normal.

The second printer you got probably had the original ink still in the lines between the ink tank and the print head. you will find that this one will clog up if you keep using that ink.
