I am trying to keep my 6L printing until I can replace it. However, I am having a recurring issue that seems like a broken cartridge but it's happened with several cartridges. They are all vintage Staples brand cartridges in the green box, all bought from different sources.
There is an excess of toner coming out of either end of the cartridges. I cleaned the printer and started again but it continues. Assumed it was the fuser(?) and so I made some prints with a newly opened vintage cartridge, only using the center area, printing on 4 inch wide cardstock. This worked for about 20-40 prints before I started getting a strip of toner oozing out of the center of the cartridge.
Before I empty and refill a non-staples cartridge to try again, I wanted to ask if this might definitely be a printer issue.
Thanks for any help!
