How to use ink from just one cartridge?

Last night I tried to print pages of full black to purge air out of my Photo Black line after a repair. I got pages of dark gray since it was still using Light Black and Light Light Black. I just made a black canvas in IrfanView and and set it to grayscale/Black & White in what felt like 10 different places (file’s color space, printer settings, etc). This was an Epson 3880.

Hello Emmet, Print out the uploaded file. Normaly it will use only the K channel.

I didn't mention that the file have to be printed out without any colormanagement, the same way as you will print a calibration file.
