Printer Canon iP3000 displayed the message: Error 1700, waste ink absorber almost full.

I've reset it following instructions from web but can not find practical instruction how to open the printer, remove the contaminated ink absorber pads in order to flush them.

Could anyone tell me how to open Canon iP3000 properly and remove the ink absorber pads, please?

Or may be there is some other website/forum where such instructions can be found?

Thanks in advance!

EliszbethPS,... I have listed on eBay a Repair Manual that will teach you how to Repair all the major components in the iP3000 printer, including disassembly from top down to the bottom case. Once you have it all taken apart, you can remove the waste ink pads and either clean them yourself, or order new ones from Canon. They are not difficult to clean, you just have to have a laundry room or garage sink as there will be a lot of ink. Once you have the printer apart, you should also take the time to remove and clean the purge unit. This is the part that sucks the ink from the ink carts down through the printhead to clean the printhead. The ink then goes to the waste pads.

The manual will teach you a better way to take care of your printer so it will last much longer. It will also teach you how to refill your own ink carts, such that you can save money, plus use the highest quality ink at the lowest possible cost. This manual will cost you less than 2 Canon ink carts. The listing will only be up for a few more days.
