I've tried searching the HP forum for "HP Officejet 6110" and get no results. I tried "HP Officejet" and also no results. I tried "officejet" and also no results. Then I tried searching for "HP" and also no results. Something is wrong with the search function...it should at least find "HP". Is there a trick to get this to work....

If you enter too few words in the search field the search doesn't work. Entering "HP Officejet 6110" with the "" finds your two posts, nothing else, so it looks like this HP printer was never mentioned on the forum.

Searching on Google for "HP Officejet 6110" (with the "") only finds one post from a German seller of used IT equipment, no other hits, so so unless the type number is wrong, this printer must be very rare and probably was never popular. The 329 € equals 390 $! Not a company I would buy anything from!

The breadbox design of the printer suggests it is very old, probably from the Windows 95 era, Also the design looks more like entry level than professional level to me. I guess it is a two cartridge printer, but what cartridges does it use?

Some of the HP tri-colour cartridges of this era like type 17, 41, 78 and probably more are very difficult to refill and get working reliably. It might be impossible to get a replacement cartridge in case of a cartridge failure. I will not recommend buying this printer.

What is it you are looking for?

This is not the HP help line about their Search function. But we may be able to help if you have a specific question about your printer.

Do not include quotation marks.

I've tried searching the HP forum for "HP Officejet 6110" and get no results.
When you are on the HP forum you do not need to include HP in the query. Also, do not include quotation marks in the search phrase.

Searching on "Officejet 6110" without the quotation marks results in 454 hits on the HP Support Community (HP's forum).

The printer from the German seller of old equipment shows a wrong model.

A new Google search finds this info about the printer and more here. Notice that no newer OS than Windows XP is specified. The printer might or might not work with Windows 10. I have got an even older HP Deskjet 930 that is only specified for OS Windows 2000 as the newest OS, but it has worked with Windows versions XP, Vista 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, so the Officejet 6110 will likely also work with newer Windows versions.

The cartridges used are HP 56 black and HP 57 tri-color and the HP 56 black can be replaced by the HP 58 tri-color photo cartridge.

These cartridges are more refill friendly than the type 78 and similar, and compatible=remanufactured cartridges are still advertised. For refilling these cartridges a priming tool is recommended to remove air after refill.

Effective and efficient search is actually really tricky. We've got two search options here:

1) Built-in that came with the forum software
2) 3rd-party search provided by Threadloom

Both have their use-cases and pros/cons... but I've never been unable to fine something (that I know exists here) using one or both of them. :)

Another option is to go to Google and type in:

site:printerknowledge.com put-search-term-here

That forces Google to only search a specific site :)

(and they have a few more pennies in their bank than we do to do search development) :D

One of the more common complaints on any forum platform is the search. We put in a lot of work under the hood to make our search smarter.
