How to bypass location chip on refills

I have a Canon Pixma MG6270 purchased in Hong Kong I’ve moved back Australia and purchased Printec Imaging refills from Ink Station compatible with model MG6250.
The printer will not recognise the replacements and gives the error message U140 “The following tank cannot be recognised.”
I cannot perform the usual reset by pushing the stop/reset for 7 second because this printer has a touch screen and this button does not illuminate to enable the fix.
Ink Station response is that the printer is not compatible with the location sensitive chip on the replacement tanks so return for refund and buy a local printer.
Is there a work around fix for this problem?

If you want to refill...

You may be able to reset the chips on your printer's OEM Canon cartridges with a chip resetter such as

I have no idea if it works. Whether it will work on aftermarket cartridges is also an unknown. It will not work for a different world Region's chips. I think one reason Canon makes the chips and printers region specific is to prevent gray market sales.

You could buy just the ARC chips and fix them on the cartridges - whether your current cartridges from Hong Kong or cartridges bought in Australia - or by aftermarket cartridges with the ARC chip fixed on them already that are specific for your model printer. Search on aliexpress using the model number of your cartridge or printer and the words "ARC chip"

Again, I have no idea how well this works.

Thanks for the info,

I didn’t realise that the chips could be replaced. So I removed the OEM chips from the old Hong Kong original tanks and replaced the Ink Station chips with these.
The printer now accepts the new tanks but because these have a greater volume of ink the printer does not recognise the tank quantities. But this glitch is easily overcome by pressing the Off/Reset button for 7 seconds.
