in other words they were *matt-compromise*-inks. Therefore I wanted to make an extra (matt-print) inks which would be better for matt-paper.
What would be the compromise - those inks print matte on matte papers, there is no need for separate light matte inks.
Yes, you can use the newer HDX PK with the 3880, you get a better black level, and you should create new profiles so that the driver/photo printing software knows the correct black level for the black point compensation.

I am not sure which inks should I use on Epson 3880......K3 or HDR?
K3 big-format-cartridges are very cheap today (Ebay) . HDR ist not much expensive than K3.

I know HDR-yellow is not good UV-stable. But K3 is also not more UV-stable than the HDR, aren´t it?
It`s said that HDR-inks have better gamut. Why? Becouse the inks are better made? Or because of the additional green and orange?

If UV-stability are the same and if the gamut on the HDR is better only becouse of green and yellow, than, I see no reason HDR is better than K3 (for Epson 3880 printer)

that's all questions separate to the B/W issues and rather would be posted better in a separate thread. General answers are just not possible for all different suppliers for these inks.

.
Dilution is not the way to make the grays. For example the Light Magenta doesn't contain magenta pigment in lower quantity, but it contains a light magenta pigment.
With dilution you depend on the paper absorbent.
Buy them ready for use. Even inks for another Epson model, like the 9800.

This is incorrect. Light inks have less pigment loading compared to "normal" inks. Pigment particle concentration differs quite a bit depending on the ink recipe and colour, but in general it lies between 5 and 10%.

You can find a lot of detailed information if you do a patent search
