The best strategy is to order large quantity of ink and take the advantage of shipping by US postal flat rate boxes. You can see that a large flat rate box will cost only $12.95, a smaller flat rate box $9.80. I believe Hobbicolors offers flat rate shipping for large orders using these flat rate boxes. These are the best you can get for buying large quantity of ink. Ink is as heavy as water. If you buy ink in pints the large flat rate box has a lot of capacity for a lot of ink. The postage tops at $12.95 or $9.80. You can order as much ink until those boxes are full.
Leo,

Thanks, that's a great suggestion.

I didn't mean to sound like I was beating up on Hobbicolors. Although I haven't used their ink yet, all the reports here on The Forum are positive regarding the ink's quality and the honesty and helpfulness of the distributor. I was just looking to, perhaps, stir up some competition which usually ends up helping the consumer. I still find it strange that no one has been able to turn up identical ink from another distributor.

I have tried a few ink suppliers for both HP and Canon printers (only have Canon presently). Hobbicolors inks are very vibrant (too much so) and will require corrections from Canon inks. I have not profiled my MP830 or 9900 but use manual settings to tone down magenta and yellow while boosting cyan. Also use -3 intensity to get close to OEM ink. I have not had any clog problems (unlike other suppliers) and only problem I had was the pigment black running on regular paper. Use of higher quality paper eliminated the problem but I did not have this issuewith another ink supplier on the same paper.

I tested ink/paper combinations and found that all aftermarket inks fade faster than OEM and that paper is just as, if not more important, than ink with good quality swellable paper superior.

Binkie - I have not found another ink supplier with similar color properties but I have only tried 4 aftermarket inks.

Well I thing it's because "the light turned red".
Don't know your driving rules, but in general if you are sure you entered the intersection on green light you should be OK. It does not matter if light turned red if you were exiting. At least at my local driving law.
Light turned red is the trigger of the camera. There is motion sensors watching the intersection. I don't think they looked at when you entered the intersection. All I remember now is I was not familiar with the neighborhood. I wasn't sure if I should turn right or go through the intersection. When I saw light turn yellow I was too late to stop. So I kept going. I was slow so I wasn't able to reach the other side before the yellow expired and turned red. If I do get a ticket I feel I am being punished by driving slowly. I just heard that the ticket will be more than $300 a piece. Today I drove through another intersection. But it was in my own neighborhood. It is a smaller intersection. The light turned yellow and I could stop if I wanted to. I kept going. I knew there was no camera. I did not want to stop because I did not want to be rear ended by whatever was behind me. Well, I went through the intersection and the light did not turn red before I reached the other side. It gave more time for cars to go through. I think I am going to use this as an example to fight in the court. They did not give long enough time for the yellow light for slow cars to go through.

Sorry for the off topic stuff. I heard that they don't always give tickets for every car photographed. They will look at the photos and give tickets to those who were obviously bad drivers. If I do get a ticket it will be the first I ever get.

leo8088,

Although off topic - just to let you know, Honolulu tried the camera stuff a few years ago but were challanged in court and have abandonded the camera at lights and for speeding. The courts ruled that they could not identify the driver and could not cite the car for a violation.

I heard that people in San Francisco challenged the red light camera system a while back and they succeeded. Last time I was in San Francisco I saw that the cameras were still there but I did not see any flashes going off. I think they stopped using them. But don't count on that. I also heard from a neighbor who got photogrpahed. They did not receive a ticket after more than a month of waiting. I believe they don't issue a ticket unless they are confident that they are not going to be challenged in court. I think if I get a ticket I will challenge in court. There is a law that requires the city to warn about the red light camera for 30 days prior to giving tickets. I was never in that neighborhood in my life before. I never had a chance cos I was never warned. Anyway, it was a more a SCAM to get revenue for the city. Sorry, for being off topic. I have had the need of stronger coffee ever since that day. LOL...Thanks, Fish.
